"When my cat Misty was eight years old, although she was full grown and
seemingly healthy, she only weighed four pounds. When I wrote our first pet
book, 'Are You Poisoning Your Pets?' I took my own advice and started feeding
Misty premium cat food and supplements. I added minerals to her water and got
rid of her toxic chemical flea collar, preferring to give her nutritional yeast and
aged garlic extract supplements as flea prevention. She never did get fleas,
even though she was an outdoor cat.
One time, she was bitten. I knew she had an abscess beneath the skin, and
called the vet to ask what his procedure was. For lots of money, he would lance
the wound, put a drain in and give her antibiotics. For free, I applied a hot
compress of sea salt and water every few hours until the abscess opened up (24
hours). I gave her Echinacea herbal drops diluted in water, with a syringe directly
into her mouth, fed her a complex mineral, enzyme, vitamin, essential fatty acid
and sea vegetable supplement, and mineral water every four hours. Once
opened, the wound was treated with liquid aged garlic extract directly into the
wound, and orally. I continued the supplements for ten days. The wound was
completely drained within four days, and healed nicely. Once drained and
closed, I applied Calendula ointment to the wound. She completely recovered,
using old-fashioned home remedies, and I saved lots of money! Misty
mysteriously went to sleep in the neighbors garage one day, never to wake up. I
will always miss her.
Since Misty departed to that spiritual place, Bootsie appeared in the back yard.
Full of worms, cuts, abscesses and generally looking like the typical stray alley
cat, he bugged me until we took him in. A trip to the vet revealed Bootsie had
feline AIDS. Not one to let that deter me from giving him a good home, I started
research into keeping him alive and healthy. Dr. Stephen Tobin, a holistic
veterinarian, recommended that I administer homeopathic remedy specifically
designed for the FIV virus. In addition I boosted his immune system by giving
him home cooked foods and health-food pet food. He also received enzymes,
minerals, flax, acidophilus, bee pollen, velvet antler, and a general vitamin
supplement. Two years later, Bootsie is an 18-pound picture of health, and is
joined by my four other stray cats, KiKi, Shadow, Sally and Buddy. (By the way,
the sign on the door now says No Vacancy.)"

"I had two dogs, a seven-year old greyhound, and a fourteen-year-old Brittany
Spaniel. The Brittany had a grand mal seizure (epileptic) a year ago, and was
near death. I started her on liquid crystalloid trace minerals (electrolyte form) as
soon as she stopped shaking. Within one hour, she settled down and fell asleep.
I have continued giving her various supplements, containing minerals, vitamins,
greens, garlic, sea vegetables and essential fatty acids. I add enzymes to every
meal I serve my dogs, and feed them only premium dog food or free-range meat
scraps. I have found that supplementing her with minerals, nutritional yeast,
flaxseed and lecithin has helped her retain her coordination, and she has not lost
any brain function. The garlic seems to help with her arthritis, as I found this herb
has excellent healing properties for joints. This regime also prevents flea
infestations, which I'm sure she appreciates. Because of my care and the
supplements she was given, she lasted two more years in a relatively pain-free
state. We think of her often, and are using preventive methods to make sure our
greyhound lives a long, long life."
